Luke 13:1-9
1/31/2009
We are very excited about moving into a new place. As one of our sisters had mentioned in our earlier meeting, where we meet does say alot about the vision of our church, kind of people we want to reach, and how we want to build our church. The place we meet does reflect our church in some degree. At the same time, the new place cannot be our permanent home which means we are in the process of growing stage. As we have entered this new year, there were things God has yet to answer our prayers from last year’s prayer requests. We have waited for a long time for fruits to bear. But in certain areas of our ministries, we feel like we are barren. What does God have to say about our situation? With the recent calamity in Haiti’s earthquake beginning of this year, we wonder what is it going to be? Is God in control? Does He still have control over our church? We can’t help but to raise countless questions. As we go into God’s word, Luke 13:1-9, we expect God to speak to us in the situation we are in.

Judges 6:11-7:25
Gideon was a self-proclaimed weakling, weakest of his family that belong to the weakest clan of Mannasseh. Yet the Angel of the Lord calls him, “Mighty Warrior.” Do you consider yourself as a Mighty Warrior for the Lord? Would the Lord address you as such? Let’s discover that the Lord is with you and you are indeed a Mighty Warrior!

Proverbs 3:5-6
To say that we are living in a tumultuous and violatile times would be an understatement. We are literally overwhelmed with financial and economic crisis, political and religious tension, along with natural disasters. Times such as these make us wonder where or to whom we can turn to. Perhaps that is why Proverbs 3:5-6 is so much more important to us today.

Mark 7:24-37
In the evangelism context, the difficulty lies not in the methodology but rather in the way we the believers see the outsiders. There is this preconceived notion that not everyone will believe when the gospel message is presented. Certain people are not just ready or they are so far from Christianity, it is even inconceivable that they will make any type of decision. Before the salvation was opened up for everyone after the cross, Jesus’ ministry was mainly revolved around the Jews or should I say, limited himself to the Jews. Yet, we find even in the world of Judaism, God shows His grace upon those who were the gentiles. Why? Could it be that God does not show favoritism, and there is no particular type of those who will make the commitment? Once this truth is spoken, I pray for the door of opportunities to share the gospel will be wide opened before us.
